Plain answers about how it works, what it costs, and how to sign your will.
About this service
It’s a simple online service that helps you make a will for England and Wales. You answer plain-English questions, review a draft of your will, then pay only if you’re happy to continue. You print and sign at home with two witnesses.
Yes. In England and Wales a will is valid if it is properly written and you sign it in front of two independent adult witnesses, who also sign while you are all present together. We give you clear signing steps with your final PDF.
Your conversation collects the details. Your will is then assembled from established will clauses used for England and Wales, the same tried-and-tested structure found in professionally drafted wills.
This service is for wills under the law of England and Wales.
No. We’re a guided self-service will-writing service using established will wording. Your will is not individually reviewed by a solicitor. For personal legal advice or complex estates, speak to a solicitor.
How it works
It’s designed to take about 15 minutes for a straightforward estate. You can go back and change answers before you pay.
No. You can start straight away. After you pay, we email your will so you have a copy. An optional free account (magic link, no password) unlocks 30-day free changes.
A full draft of your will, clearly marked as a preview. Check every detail first. After payment you get the final version, ready to print and sign.
Couple wills, sometimes called mirror wills, are a matching pair, usually each leaving everything to the other, with the same backup plans. You both get your own will to sign. Our couple option is £99 for both.
When you start your will, we run a quick suitability check first (~2 minutes). It places you in one of three buckets: a great match, worth a careful look, or better with a solicitor. We’re ideal for straightforward estates in England & Wales. For businesses, overseas property, trusts, or excluding a dependant, a solicitor is usually the right route.
Price, payment & changes
£59 for a single will, or £99 for couple wills. That’s two matching, independently signed wills. Prices include VAT. You only pay after you’ve reviewed your draft.
Only after you’ve read your full draft and choose to continue. Chat and preview are free.
Yes, for 30 days from purchase, if you create a free account with a magic link after payment (use the same email you paid with). Without an account you can still download today’s will from the success page and your email. After the 30 days, you’d need a new will (or any update option we offer later).
You see the full draft before you pay. If we fail to deliver your will, or there’s a clear fault we can’t fix, contact us and we’ll regenerate or refund as appropriate. See the Refund Policy for details.
We email it to you, and you can download it from the success page. Keep a copy somewhere safe. Create an account if you want 30-day free changes in My will.
After payment, enter your email on the success page (or Sign in). We send a magic link, no password needed. Open the link, and we’ll link your paid will to your account so you can view, download, and edit for 30 days.
Signing your will
Print it, then sign it in front of two adult witnesses. They must watch you sign, then sign themselves while you are all still together. Don’t sign alone and ask people to witness later, as that can make the will invalid.
Two adults who are independent. They should not be people who inherit under the will, and they should not be married to (or in a civil partnership with) someone who inherits. Friends, neighbours, or work colleagues often work well.
No. You don’t need a solicitor present to sign a straightforward will. You do need two suitable witnesses and to follow the signing steps carefully.
Store the original somewhere safe where your executors can find it, for example with trusted family, or in a safe place at home that they know about. Tell your executors where it is.
Your details & privacy
Things like your full name, date of birth, address, who should deal with your estate (executors), who should inherit, and, if relevant, guardians for children under 18. We only ask what’s needed to build your will.
Yes. We use your details to create your will and support your order. We don’t sell your information. See our Privacy Policy for the full picture.
Check the email we sent after payment. Your will should be attached. If you can’t find it, contact us and we’ll help.
